Até então, Ayrton Senna era acostumado com mulheres a seu alcance. Fazia e decidia o futuro do relacionamento por conta própria. Isso só durou até encontrar Maria da Graça Meneghel. Gaúcha, loira, olho azul, corpo escultura, sonho de dez entre dez brasileiros na década de 80 ( e continuou sendo nos dez anos seguintes). Rica, bonita, independente. Xuxa reunia as características de nenhuma outra mulher que já havia passado na vida de Senna.

O namoro dos dois começou no finalzinho de 1988. Ayrton mal tinha sido campeão mundial pela McLaren e conheceu Xuxa. Não sabia ele que as mesmas características que o cativaram no início do relacionamento, acabariam com tudo. Xuxa não podia acompanhar Senna nas corridas, tinha compromisso com os "baixinhos" todas as manhãs na Globo e, principalmente, com Marlene Mattos.

Um ano depois do início, Senna já vivia momentos conturbados com a apresentadora. Ao perder o mundial de 1989 para Alain Prost, tentou esfriar a cabeça visitando a amada em Nova Iorque vestido de Papai Noel. Xuxa não gostou nem um pouco e dispensou o campeão. Senna manteve contato com a apresentadora até os últimos dias de vida, mas, segundo o livro de Ernesto Rodrigues "Ayrton,Herói Revelado", ao desligar o telefone, o ídolo sempre ficava deprimido.

"Xuxa delira pela profissão, e simplesmente, se fecha no seu mundo. Acho que fui um dos únicos que consegui entrar no mundo dela. Conheci coisas particulares do interior de Xuxa. Ela não dá condições para o relacionamento. Não tem tempo para pensar para valer em uma família, em ter seu baixinho, sua baixinha. Posso dizer que uma única coisa senti lá dentro o desejo de ter uma família. Uma única vez em toda minha vida sonhei ter uma criança. Foi com ela: Xuxa", desabafou Ayrton em uma entrevista de 1993.Cristine Ferracciu
Logo em 1990, o piloto brasileiro "apresentou" sua nova namorada. A morena Cristine Ferracciu passou quase dois anos com Senna. Pouco se ouviu falar dela. Ele nunca gostou de estardalhaço com a vida pessoal. O namoro acabou quando Ferracciu decidiu voltar para o Brasil para cuidar da mãe, que estava com câncer.

Seu último relacionamento foi com a então modelo Adriane Galisteu. Os amigos mais próximos dizem que Senna nunca esteve tão feliz ao lado de uma mulher. Por outro lado, a família sempre foi totalmente contra o romance. No dia 30 de abril de 1994, o irmão Leonardo chegou a mostrar para o piloto uma fita contendo uma conversa telefônica entre Galisteu e um ex-namorado. Nela, Senna era zombado pelo ex da modelo. Galisteu não havia concordado com nada na gravação, nem comentou sobre o assunto quando foi procurada recentemente por uma revista semanal.

A publicação garante que a marcante cena de Ayrton olhando fixamente para o carro minutos antes da largada em Ímola não seria por preocupação com a corrida, e sim com o possível rompimento do namoro com Galisteu. E de fato ele foi rompido. Na curva Tamburello, a 300 Km/h...

Para o público podia parecer que namorar era complicado para Ayrton. Porém, ele sempre teve uma opinião bem definida:

"Namoro como todo mundo. Às vezes dou bola, às vezes elas dão. É fascinante este jogo de relações afetivas entre um homem e uma mulher. Mas encontrar a parceira ideal não é fácil. O lado físico, a beleza, o charme, a inteligência, é claro que tudo isso conta. Weltautorennenformel 1 kart Meister

The last time we saw an American entrepreneur stuffing a powerful American-built engine into an unsuspecting British sports car, it was the 1960s and it was Carroll Shelby. The meek AC Ace roadster was, shall we say, invigorated by his fitment of the Ford V8 into its lightweight body shell.

Fast-forward nearly a half-century. Secant Vehicles, a small start-up headquartered in San Francisco, has developed a GM Ecotec engine conversion for every Lotus Elise (or Exige) built since the waspish midengine sports car's 2005 introduction.

The players are different, but the three-step formula for the Lotus Exige by Secant is the same as Shelby's:

Step 1 — Find a small car.
Step 2 — Add power.
Step 3 — Kick ass.

So has history been repeated? We drove Secant's development car, a 2006 Lotus Exige equipped with the optional Track Pack suspension, to find out.

Both Renault drivers, who were started excellent didn't see the finish line. Fisichella had a Hydrolic- problem, Alonso was out because of a driving mistake.

Students Make Hybrid Racing Car, Free-kicking Robot

It is built in sparkling white and with a striking similarity to a real Formula 1 racer, but just a little bit smaller. Students of mechanical engineering at the D-MAVT recently unveiled their Formula student racer called "Maloja". Its preceding model "Albula" was present, too - converted into a hybrid racing car. In addition, a free-kick robot and a four-legged walking robot were presented.

2008 Toyota Panasonic Racing - Canadian Grand Prix

For the Canadian Grand Prix on June 8 2008, riding the kerbs is key, and Panasonic Toyota Racing has spent time in the build up simulating the TF108's behavior on a seven-post rig, which is able to replicate the demands of the Montreal track. A full-size TF108 racecar has been placed on a hydraulically-powered rig, which uses data from previous seasons to shake and shudder the car exactly as though it was driving over the bumps and kerbs of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Available video includes an edited video piece on the use of simulation at Panasonic Toyota Racing, views of the TF108 race car on the seven-post rig as well as soundbites from President John Howett, Senior General Manager Chassis Pascal Vasselon, Senior General Manager Engine Luca Marmorini, Chief Engineer Race and Test Dieter Gass and Head of Aerodynamics Mark Gillan.
